Blog 4- A photograph and its story

Welcome again!

The picture that I present to you this time, was taken a couple of years ago by me. It was my pet, called Ichigo. There are plenty of pictures of him, but I like this the most. First of all, this photo holds a special place in my heart because he was the first pet in my life, and became an honorable member of my family. Thanks to him I learned more about being responsible and respectful to animals.

Secondly, another reason why this is my favorite photograph is that reminds me of the happiness that my mother felt thanks to Ichigo. He became another son to her jaja, most of the time he was flying around my house and standing on our heads. Eventually, I was really impressed by the tie that someone can have to a pet. So, all his pictures grow into beautiful memories of my younger self.

Blog 3- My favorite piece of technology

 Hello everyone!

My favorite piece of technology is the photographic camera. The first time I’ve got one in my hand I was approximately 7 years old, it was Christmas and someone gave it to my dad as a gift, I was very excited to use it and take pictures of everything. Currently, I have one that I bought, it’s not a professional one, but I use it when I go out with my friends and on vacation with my family.

I really like it because allows me to capture nature, landscapes, and the people that surround me, and keep those memories with me through the years. Even though I love my camera, and I´d be sad if I didn’t have it, I don’t think my life would change that much considering that I still have my phone with his own camera, so I’ll be alright.

BLOG 2- Why did you choose this career/study programme?

My experience at university has been certainly curious, I have never thought that my first year would be online and in the middle of a global pandemic, without being able to go to the campus and meet my new friends. It's been difficult because sometimes it gets tiring being on the computer all day, but I still like my career so far.

When I applied to different universities last year, I considered careers like anthropology, history, or political science, however I finally decided for sociology considering I've always been interested in what happens around me and the society, along with the study programmes that include different subjects from social life. It’s funny if I think about it because when I was a child my dream job was to become a doctor, even my parents bought books related to medicine for me, but it turned out that my interests took a different path.

For the future, I haven’t thought deeply about the kind of job I would like, but I’d be happy if it involves traveling to other countries around the world, and having the opportunities to interact with other societies and cultures.

Blog 1- Personal Information

Hello everyone!

My name is Camila Bahamondes, I was born in Santiago. Currently, I´m still living here. I am a member of a family of 5, because I like to include my grandfather even if he does not live with us. My older brother is a teacher, and my mom loves to dance and take care of her plants. On the other hand, my dad likes to see with me horror movies on the weekends.

I´m currently studying sociology at the University of Chile, this is my second year, which has been interesting and difficult as well. I hope one day to attend classes on the campus, due to the pandemic we are facing nowadays I have not been able to.

My hobbies are reading books, especially the classics. I love to go to the beach and watch the sunset, and also discover new music that can bring me different emotions. In that sense a moment that I really keep in my mind was my first concert with the band Coldplay, I was 15 years old at that time, and after that experience, I got really sick because it was cold, so I got the flu.
